Beep, beep! The queens of ‘Drag Race Philippines’ Season 1 have arrived

Category is: Philippine Drag Excellency! After almost a year of waiting, the cast of the most-anticipated Drag Race Philippines has been finally ru-vealed.

On July 27, World of Wonder and Drag Race Philippines announced on their social media accounts that the Filipino drag artists to compete in the first season of the hit TV reality show’s Filipino version.

The show’s cast includes new and seasoned drag performers, as well as pageant girls, comedy queens, and makeup artists, who all come from different parts of the Philippines.

Get ready for your wigs to be snatched as we introduce you to the queens who’ll show their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent in the center stage of Drag Race Philippines.

Brigiding

One of the most prominent names in the Philippine drag scene, Brigiding is known for her gagging looks and show-stopping performances. She has also joined Pride parades and events both locally and internationally. Brigiding is also one of the founders of Drag Playhouse PH, the Philippines’ drag content and entertainment provider.

Corazon

Known as the “fighting beauty queen of Bolinao, Pangasinan,” Corazon is a 34-year-old drag queen who has competed in beauty pageants and male bikini contests. Aside from competing in pageants and doing drag, Corazon is also a makeup artist, costume designer, and gown couturier, who owns a rental gown shop for beauty pageant contestants.

Eva Le Queen

She’s the beauty and the grace of Drag Race Philippines—meet Eva Le Queen, your cool drag tita (aunt). One of the well-known drag performers in Metro Manila, both Eva’s drag name and aesthetic are inspired by her fascination with villains. Eva is a resident queen at Nectar Nightclub, and is also one of the founders of Drag Playhouse PH.

Gigi Era

All the way from Melbourne, Australia, Gigi Era is one of the famous drag artists in the Australian drag scene. Now that she’s back in the Philippines and representing the city of Davao in Drag Race Philippines, Gigi is about to showcase her daredevil acts and fabulous wigs.

Lady Morgana

Marina Summers

Just like the sun, she’s a freaking star—meet Marina Summers, the tropical bombshell of the Philippines. With her three years of doing drag, Marina became famous not only for her fish looks, but also for her extraordinary performances. She’s one of the regular performers at Nectar Nightclub, and one of the founders of Drag Playhouse PH.

Minty Fresh

A proud GGSS (Gandang Ganda Sa Sarili), Minty Fresh has been doing drag for 11 years. She’s not only a fashion queen and a look queen, but also a talent queen and an all-around performer. Her lip sync performance of Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” during former Vice President Atty. Leni Robredo’s Pasig City People’s rally went viral and caught the eyes of the American pop singer.

Precious Paula Nicole

Another prominent name in the local drag scene is Precious Paula Nicole, who’s been in the scene for 11 years. She’s known for her celebrity impersonations, but don’t be fooled because Precious can do anything: from comedy and acting, to dancing. Precious is the star performer at O-Bar Manila, the most known drag bar in the country, and is the mother of many popular drag queens.

Prince

Hailing from Bulacan, Prince is known for her out-of-this-world looks as her drag is heavily inspired by extraterrestrials, science fiction, and anime. Prince is also another founder of Drag Playhouse PH, along with her fellow queens Brigiding, Marina, and Eva.

Turing

Representing the big girls, Turing is the “big, bold, beautiful, and lactose-intolerant b*tch” and the show’s first plus-sized queen. She’s a well-rounded queen who’s been doing drag for more than seven years. Turing is known for her lip-syncing chops and fierce dancing skills. She also performs at O-Bar Manila.

Viñas DeLuxe

Known as the “Pambansang Bunganga ng Pilipinas” (national mouth of the Philippines), Viñas DeLuxe has been doing drag for seven years. Aside from her big personality and sharp wit, Viñas takes pride in her skills to style her own hair wigs, which is one of her strongest suits.

Xilhouete

A drag mom, a filmmaker, and an artist, Xilhouete first started female impersonating before she shifted to doing drag. Xilhouete is considered one of the most respected queens in the Manila drag scene and is a drag mother to many drag performers. Xilhouete is one of the owners of Nectar Nightclub, where she also served as the club’s creative director.

Following the introduction of Drag Race Philippines queens, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement and support for the cast.

Of course, some users even poked fun at one of the queens. One user even compared Corazon to Liza from the 2015 ABS-CBN television drama, FlordeLiza, while another quipped that Drag Race legend Jujubee has been cast in the franchise… again.

In case you didn’t know: Jujubee is a drag queen who competed in Drag Race season 2 and its spin-offs: All Stars season 1, All Stars season 5, and UK vs The World. Her, competing in different franchises of Drag Race has been a running joke among the fans, saying that the drag queen will most likely appear and compete in the future seasons of the show.

Drag Race Philippines will be hosted by Paolo Ballesteros. He’ll be joined by Drag Race season 4 and All Stars season 6 alum Jiggly Caliente and celebrity impersonator KaladKaren on the judging panel as permanent judges.

Drag Race Philippines is set to premiere on August 17, while Untucked, the series’ companion show, airs on August 19, both on WOW Presents Plus.
