Even though it’ll be a stand-alone series, it’ll be based on Adult Swim’s critically praised animated comedy that explores the adventures of a genius inventor and his kind-hearted grandson.

Beyond Rick and Morty: The Anime, Adult Swim has given a series order to filmmaker Sungoo Park’s futuristic action-adventure Ninja Kamui. The series follows Joe Higan, an ex-ninja who fled his clan and is driven out of the shadows to revenge on his family’s death after being attacked by a team of assassins in the series.

Rick and Morty: The Anime is currently in production and is set to be premiered on Adult Swim and HBO Max, with no finalized date yet.
