The teaser trailer of the upcoming anime film, Suzume no Tojimari, was officially revealed to fans last Sunday.
Suzume no Tojimari (literal translation ‘Suzume’s Door Locking’ in English) is an upcoming Japanese animated film that is written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. The anime film follows the journey of a 17-year-old Suzume, in the quiet town of Kyushu, where she will find a weathered door in the midst of ruins. Suzume will find herself opening the mysterious door and entering into a realm of mystery, but disaster strikes as once the door has been opened, all doors will begin to open one after another across Japan, and Suzume must be able to close these portals before its too late.
Suzume no Tojimari will be Makoto Shinkai’s first new film in three years, and the film features character designs from Masayoshi Tanaka, animation direction by Kenichi Tsuchiya, and art direction by Takumi Tanji.
And last Sunday, the official YouTube channel of TOHO Movie, reveals the film’s new teaser trailer:
Film director, Makoto Shinkai, described the film through three significant points, saying that it’s a road movie going around Japan, a story about “closing doors” rather than opening them, and this can be a reason for you to visit the movie theater. He further explained that the plot of “closing doors” can also refer to someone tying loose ends or finishing a journey. In addition to Suzume no Tojimari getting a teaser trailer, last Saturday the director shared a new visual poster for his upcoming film.
Some of Makoto Shinkai’s other famous films are, Weathering With You (2019), Kimi no na wa (Your Name) (2016), and Koto no ha no niwa (2013).
Suzume no Tojimari is set to premiere on November 11 in Japan.
