Stray Kids drop new EP ‘ODDINARY,’ Changbin tests positive for COVID

After their “Thunderous” comeback last year with their album “NOEASY,” Stray Kids is once again back in the K-Pop music scene with their sixth Korean-language EP, “ODDINARY.” This, along with a music video for the album’s lead single “MANIAC”, was released on March 18, 2022, at 1 P.M. KST.

Stray Kids’ latest EP continues the group’s dedication to redefining their musicality and growth as a group, as well as challenging societal norms with their lyrics. “MANIAC,” the EP’s title track, talks about the group’s desire to “stray” away from ordinary boundaries.

The song – as well as all of the songs in the EP – were composed by members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han who form 3RACHA, an in-house production team in JYP Entertainment. The song was co-composed with producer VERSACHOI, who they worked with previously for “God’s Menu.”

The music video shows the Stray Kids members going back and forth in two worlds, where they explore different locations and scenery in a different dimension, before returning to the real world and living ordinary lives.

STAYs are more than happy to finally hear new music from Stray Kids, and have been anticipating the release of this new EP after the group’s fan meeting “SKZ’s Chocolate Factory” on February 13, 2022. With the release of “ODDINARY” and “MANIAC,” they brought Stray Kids to the trending topics of the day on social media.

At the same time, however, member Changbin also tested positive for COVID-19. Fans sent their good luck wishes to the artist’s health and for his safe recovery.

Get well soon, Changbin, and congratulations on your successful comeback, Stray Kids!
