(Editor’s note: We asked all our delegates and student representatives to answer five questions regarding their attendance in this year’s Cannes Lions. We ask one of the Filipino jury members, Brandie Tan, who is jury for radio. He’s also the Executive Creative Director of Publicis JimenezBasic. )

POP! Team: What was the first thing you put inside your bag when you were packing your luggage for Cannes?
Brandie: My sunblock.
POP! Team: What was the first thing that came to your mind when you saw all the other judges from different countries during the festival briefing?
Brandie: I was one of the two token Asian jury.
POP! Team: What exactly was running through your mind when you were judging on Day 1? How about on Day 2?
Brandie: Day 1 : There’s a lot of bad radio.
Day 2 : There’s still a lot of bad radio.
POP! Team: Give us a quick summary of your Cannes Lions experience.
Brandie: Cannes Lions was very educational. No one comes back from Cannes uninspired. We all come out of it hungry to do better, more inspiring work.
POP! Team: Do you think the Philippines has a shot at winning a Lion? Yes or no? Why?
Brandie: Yes, The Philippines has the talent. All we need to do is to work along with our clients. Together we can make our work more globally competitive. We just need to align with our global offices, both agency and client with the vision to be the best in the industry.
