Dr. Dre led a star-studded cast when he announced who’s performing at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Dre alongside Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar broke the arena as they sang all-time hit songs starting from Dre’s “The Next Episode”, followed by Mary J. Blige’s “Family Affair”, Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”, Lamar’s “Alright” and a surprise rap and drums performance from Candy Shop rapper 50 Cent and Anderson Paak respectively.
While all the artists performed songs influential from their careers, there’s one track that seemed to stand out.
Thanks to the recent Super Bowl performance, Dre’s famed collab with Snoop Dogg “Still D.R.E.” has reached its first billion views on YouTube – a very big milestone for both rappers.
Still, “D.R.E.” is said to be one of Dre’s famous tracks because of its beat. It came to a peak at number 23 in Billboard Hot 100 during its initial release and was featured in the movie Training Day featuring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.
While the track was produced by Dr. Dre himself alongside Scott Storch and Mel-man, the track was written and directed by Jay-Z and Hype Williams respectively.
