Walt Disney Studios released the official trailer for Cheaper By the Dozen which is a fresh take from the 2003 film starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. The film will premiere on Disney+ on March 18 this year.

Cheaper By the Dozen is loosely based on a book written by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and his brother Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. The classic film presents a family of 10 children and their parents living an extraordinary life who try to keep things in order in a chaotic house.

Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union will be playing parents Paul and Zoey Baker along with the young actors,  Erika Christensen, Timon Kyle Durrett, Journee Brown, Kylie Rogers, Andre Robinson, Caylee Blosenski, Aryan Simhadri, Leo Abelo Perry, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Christian Cote, Sebastian Cote, and Luke Prael.

The film is directed by Black-ish producer Gail Lerner with the screenplay by Kenya Barris and Jennifer Rice-Genzuk. Barris and Rice-Genzuk have worked closely before in critically acclaimed shows Black-ish and Grown-ish which comes to show how promising the reboot is.

Braff and Union are primed to lead an ensemble cast with their experiences in large ensemble and comedic roles. Braff is known for his role in the comedic series Scrubs and the recent film The Comeback Trail. While, Union starred in LA’s Finest, Breaking InBring it On, and many more.

In 2019, Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and announced their plans on reimagining Cheaper By the Dozen in August of the same year. Writers and directors have seemingly brought diversity in the film with an interracial, blended family that is not traditionally the focus of relatable comedy.

A story that displays a journey of raising children, keeping a neat household, and loving their one-of-a-kind family, Cheaper By the Dozen can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
