Jamie Dornan to star alongside Gal Gadot in ‘Heart of Stone’

Following his stint in the 2021 semi-autobiographical film Belfast, Jamie Dornan has found his next big role as he will star alongside Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot in the new spy-thriller film Heart of Stone.

Heart of Stone will be directed by British filmmaker Tom Harper who is known for his works as the director of The Aeronauts, Wild Rose, War & Peace, and The Peaky Blinders. The Old Guard writer Greg Rucka and Hidden Figures and Frozen II screenwriter Allison Schroeder are also on board to pen the upcoming film’s script.

Harper and Rucka will also serve as the executive producers of Heart of Stone, along with world-renowned production manager and producer Patty Whitcher, who is known for her credits on The Avengers, Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce the film, with Gadot and Jaron Varsano through their production company Pilot Wave.

Heart of Stone’s plot details and cast members are being kept under wraps, but according to The Wrap’s source, the film could be an original “action franchise” in the same manner as the Mission: Impossible series.

Dornan rose to prominence when he played Christian Grey in the 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey. The 39-year-old actor had also appeared in numerous television shows and movies, namely Once Upon A Time as Sheriff Graham, The Fall as Paul Spector, and Wild Mountain Thyme as Anthony Reilly, among many others. Dornan had recently starred in the critically acclaimed film Belfast, where he was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor in any Motion Picture at the 2022 Golden Globes.

Gadot, on the other hand, is known for her role in Wonder Woman films. She had previously starred in the 2021 action-comedy film Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. She will also appear in the film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel titled Death on the Nile, which will hit theaters on February 11.
