Britney Spears lands acting role for her first post-conservatorship project

Two weeks into her freedom, Britney Spears has revealed her first post-conservatorship project. Spears’ first step back into the spotlight will be an acting role. She recently announced on her Instagram that she just filmed for a “movie” called The Idol.

“I just shot a movie titled ‘THE IDOL’… it’s guaranteed to have hits and a lot bright pics to put in my beautiful family’s faces!!!!! I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am!!!! If I go quiet from time to time, you can catch me with this cat somewhere!!!!” the singer posted on Instagram, along with a picture of a cat sitting next to a glass of wine.

As for the movie that Spears mentioned, there isn’t much information on it yet. However, fans are speculating that the singer was referring to the upcoming HBO series of the same name, which will star Troye Sivan and The Weeknd, who will also be the show’s co-writer and executive producer. The TV series The Idol was co-created by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, and is about a female pop star who falls in love with a cult leader.

Some of the cast members of the TV series have already been revealed, but Spears’ name has not appeared on the list, so it’s hard to tell if fans’ speculations are right or if the singer is referring to a different project entirely.

Her acting role on The Idol marks her first project since the end of her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in mid-November. After taking to social media to celebrate her freedom, the singer has expressed that she intends to take some time to enjoy her freedom before jumping into projects. Ever since, Spears has been making several posts on Instagram and announced that she plans to make some big life decisions, like possibly having another child.
