Twitter reacts to Sesame Street’s Big Bird getting vaccinated

Yes, you read that right – Big Bird, the iconic 8 foot 2 yellow bird from Sesame Street has just taken the COVID-19 vaccine, according to his recent tweet last November 6.

“I got the COVID-19 vaccine today! My wing is feeling a little sore, but it’ll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy.

Ms. @EricaRHill even said I’ve been getting vaccines since I was a little bird. I had no idea!”

Big Bird shared his vaccination story days after the Pfizer vaccine was approved for children aged 5-11.

Sesame Street has always been an organization with a “community built on diversity, equity, and inclusion,” and its programs have taught kids around the world about essential lessons like self-love, the value of friendship, and so on.

Big Bird has always been a long-time advocate for vaccination, as seen in this tweet below.

This video clip shows Big Bird learning how to keep himself and others safe by taking his measles shot, aired way back in 1972.

Twitter has reacted to Big Bird taking the COVID-19 vaccine, which unsurprisingly consists of the pro-vaccine and the anti-vaccine sides.

Many people have commended Big Bird for setting an example for children everywhere. It can be seen in some of the tweets below:

Others have reacted negatively to Big Bird’s vaccination story, as can be seen here:

Even Houston Senator Ted Cruz is on the opposing side, claiming that Big Bird pushes out government propaganda  which is completely false. If you’re still hesitant to take the vaccine, visit https://doh.gov.ph/vaccines to find out why they’re safe, and why they can keep everyone’s future safe.
