National Finance Congress 2021: The youth’s stepping stone towards financial literacy

Financial literacy is not an end in itself, but a step-by-step process. It begins in childhood and continues throughout a person’s life all the way to retirement.” – George Carl, chairman of the National CPA Financial Literacy Commission. With the up-and-coming trends in the finance industry, especially with the adaptation of technology, financial literacy becomes more complex and all the while more important.

It ultimately becomes an essential component of our lives as we grow older, and thus the need for this topic becomes more evident. However, not everyone has the time and privilege to educate themselves regarding these concepts, especially those who are studying and/or working in other fields. Given how dynamic the financial trends are, it is vital for us to constantly be aware of changes and updates in trends in order for us to better adapt to the current times. As times change and new generations arise, financial literacy must be promoted for the betterment of our future.

To rise up to this need, the Management of Financial Institutions Association, one of DLSU’s accredited professional student organizations, is hosting its annual flagship event, National Finance Congress 2021, with the theme of Gearing for Financial Versatility in the Current Times, which aims to inspire and lead the youth into financial literacy and freedom, as well as promote financial proficiency given the current trends. This event is open, free-of-charge, to all and will be held on August 14 and 28, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM via Private Facebook Livestream.
