Kyle Massey, a former star of Disney series “Cory in the House” and “That’s so Raven,” is facing a felony charge of communication for allegedly sending pornographic materials to a 13-year-old girl.
According to reports, Kyle Massey had been sending sexually explicit content during December 2018 and January 2019.
In March 2019, the actor was accused of sending explicit texts and photos to a 13-year-old-girl over Snapchat. Massey was sued for 1.5 million dollars by the teen and her mother. The previous lawsuit stated that Massey knew the teen when she was only four years old. Massey and the girl stayed in contact as Massey claimed to be the girl’s father figure.
The girl reached out to him in late 2018 and shared her interest in auditioning for the role in Raven’s Home, Massey allegedly suggested that the teen should stay with him and his girlfriend in LA and help her get a talent agent. Days later, Massey allegedly sent sexual text messages, images, and videos via Snapchat.
Massey claimed that he was being extorted and denied the misconduct, so the teen’s family decided to drop the lawsuit and instead filed a report at their local sheriff.
Kyle Massey’s felony charges sparked comments from Twitter
Some expressed their disappointment and mentioned ex-Nickelodeon star Drake Bell who faced a similar issue.
Kyle Massey was due to be arraigned on Monday in Washington, but the actor failed to appear. He has a new arraignment date in July.
