Manila, Philippines, marked the sold-out and final stop of EXO’s Chen’s 2024 CHEN FAN-CON Beyond the DOOR. The fan-con, which began in Seoul, South Korea, also toured Taipei, Taiwan; Bangkok, Thailand; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, before concluding in the Philippines.
Chen’s previous concert in the Philippines took place in December 2022 during the Be You 2 concert in Manila, where he shared the stage with BoA, TVXQ, and fellow EXO member Xiumin. Now, he’s back for his much-awaited solo fan-con tour, Beyond the DOOR.
The idol kicked off his fan-con with heartfelt performances of “Empty” and “Dandelion,” both tracks from his 4th mini-album, DOOR. Chen warmly greeted his Soondongies (his fandom name) and EXO-Ls, expressing that everyone remained as passionate, powerful, beautiful, and cute as the last time they met.
Chen explained that the reason why he picked the opening song, ‘Empty’ is because of the lyrics, “without you, I wouldn’t be here” and it’s a song that opens the journey of our world. The singer also assured his fans that the night would be stress-free as he let them sing and scream all they want.
With a fun and interactive game, Chen played ‘CHEN-LLENGE’ where he needed to guess the missing lyrics of the song flashed on the screen. Once he fails to guess, he will open a box containing costumes that he needs to wear. Chen happily interacted with fans and wore the costumes that Soondongies enjoyed.

The South Korean idol serenaded his fans with ‘Remember’ and ‘I Don’t Even Mind’. ‘PLAYLIST’, ‘Fall In Love Again’, ‘Hold You Tight’, ‘Beautiful Goodbye’, ‘Don’t Remember’, ‘Shall we?’, and ‘Starlight’.
Chen expressed his love and gratitude to his fans before singing his song, ‘Love You’, he was delighted to be able to perform the songs that he wrote for his fans.
The first fan project was shown as well during ‘Starlight’ where fans raised and waved their Dandelion Lights. The New Frontier Theater was filled with yellow lights and Chen was very surprised and happy to see the fan project prepared for him.
“Because of you guys, accepting me, loving me, and caring for me. I wrote songs like this to express how grateful I am to have people like you, and that’s the reason why I’m so happy.” Chen also mentioned that his show here in Manila became very heartwarming for him and his Filipino EXO-Ls and Soondongies sang very well.
During the short break, fans prepared another fan project which is singing the acapella of ‘Everytime’, one of Chen’s famous OST songs from the hit Korean drama series, ‘Descendants of the Sun’. The South Korean singer was happy hearing the fans sing very well but didn’t want to miss the moment and sang the OST together again with them.
Chen also aknowledged the last hand banner fan project with the message “You fill our days with brightness, our sunshine, Jongdae”

“I call you guys Soondongie, EXO-L, and stars. I really call you guys different names, because that shows how I really really care and how I love you guys. Today, because of you guys, I’m very very happy. In order for me to shine on stage, you guys really are the sunrise and stars that make me a lot brighter and shine on stage. I’m not the person who lights up here on stage but a person who receives the lights you guys sent to me for me to shine brighter.”
Chen also shared that he saw countless of bright stars in the sky before his fancon in Manila and it reminded him of his fans the most.
For his ending ment, Chen talked about the fan video project fans prepared for him. The idol thanked his fans for attending his fancon and said that he will never forget all the love that he received throughout his tour.
The long-awaited encore performed by Chen is ‘Best Luck’, another famous OST song of a Korean drama series, “It’s Okay, That’s Love”. EXO-Ls and Soondongies sang their heart out with Chen.
