Red Velvet’s Wendy goes viral for her vocal coaching on new survival show

Red Velvet member Wendy went viral after showing her expertise in vocal coaching and her kind attitude towards the contestants.

Given her exceptional vocal talent, fans were pleased to see Wendy take on a judging and coaching role on Mnet’s newest survival show, “Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survivor.” This year, the K-pop idol earned her notoriety for her participation as a judge.

Multiple videos of Wendy assisting the contestants with their singing were posted on social media site X (formerly Twitter). One of the videos showed Wendy gently assisting a contestant with her line delivery.

In another footage, a participant serenaded Wendy and the judges. After that, she also provided guidance to the contestant, offering helpful advice and pointers regarding falsetto singing.

Fans expressed their admiration for Wendy’s skill in vocal coaching and noted that she is establishing the gold standard for judges of survival programs.

One user wrote, “In a sea of “judges” who just take contestants down and embarrass them, be a mentor like Wendy who tries to correct them and help them improve with examples and kindness.”

“I can never quite get over how technical of a singer Wendy is, and how she knows what kind of singing exercise/technique can bring out someone’s best voice. Speaks volumes of both her training and passion for singing in itself. She’s wonderful for this kind of mentorship,” a second user wrote.

A third user wrote, “Example of how to be a good judge and mentor. You guys like acting like they have to be mean to the trainees in order to teach them when that shouldn’t be the case. Be like Wendy.”

Other social media users also praised the idol’s compassion and encouragement for the trainees.

When Wendy made her debut in 2014, her songs, vocals, and remarkable range won her fans over. Through her music, Red Velvet’s discography, and live performances, fans are fully aware that Wendy is among the top vocalists in the K-pop industry.
