To pay tribute to Super Mario Bros.’ 35th anniversary this year, Nintendo announced a new Mario Kart game titled Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit for the Nintendo Switch.
The new game brings Mario Kart to life in your living room. It will be utilizing a real-life Kart with a camera attached to it. Drive it around the course of your home and race against virtual opponents using your Nintendo Switch. The physical Kart responds to the actions on screen, including in-game boosts and running into items like virtual blue shells and banana peels.
Players will also need to layout the track for the karts in their homes with gates that are provided in the bundle. You can place them on the floor around any room in your house.
The game will also let you play with friends through a four-player local multiplayer mode, but players will need their own Switch and kart.
The game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch on October 16 with both a Mario and Luigi pack.
