Founder of JellyBelly brings Willy Wonka’s concept to life

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to participate in the hunt for Willy Wonka’s golden ticket?

Well wonder no more, because David Klein, founder of “JellyBelly” and who now runs “Spectrum Confections,” just made this possible.

During a video message online, he revealed that he has hidden golden tickets across the US, in the form of necklaces that may contain cash incentives and a grand prize. Each state is limited to 1000 entries and will require an entry fee of $50 to be able to participate in the treasure hunt.

Participants will also need to have a Facebook account, to be able to receive the riddles in a “private forum.”

“You will be looking for a Gold Ticket in the form of a necklace with a tag that includes a code you need to use to verify your find. Winners will receive $5,000,” according to the Gold Ticket website.

While getting the chance to win thousands of dollars may seem like the biggest reason to participate, Klein revealed that the grand prize of this treasure hunt is winning the key to one of his candy factories.

He mentioned, “We are going to have the ultimate treasure hunt where the winner will be receiving a key to one of our candy stores.”

Klein did not disclose which candy store it was, but the location is said to be in Florida and is 4,000 square feet. The winner will also be receiving an “all-expenses-paid trip and education to a candy-making university,” at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The timeless tale of Willy Wonka is one that has truly captured the hearts of candy and chocolate lovers everywhere. Luckily for us, the pure joy of participating in the quest for Wonka’s golden ticket lives on, through the companies that bring these ideas to life.
