DC FanDome event draws 22 million views

The DC FanDome event was a blast!

Last  Aug. 23 (Aug 22. WST), Warner Bros. Studios held a one-of-a-kind virtual convention called the DC FanDome. The event turned out to be a huge success among comic-book and superhero movie fans. The studio revealed that the event generated 22 million views across 220 countries over its 24-hour run.

Over an eight-hour span of the event, DC brought fans panels and content of upcoming films, video games, and comics that gave an idea of what to expect from the studio over the next few years.

“We really wanted to put together an event that would super-serve the fans,” Warner Bros. TV group president and chief marketing officer Lisa Gregorian tells Variety.

The event had some of the biggest stars of Hollywood making appearances such as Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Ezra Miller, Viola Davis, and John Cena, who all participated in the virtual gathering.

The event also featured trailers for upcoming movies like “The Batman,” “Wonder Woman 1984,” and Zack Snyder’s “Justice League”, as well as a cast reveal trailer for James Gunn’s “Suicide Squad”.

Given the reality of this new normal, comic book fans, especially DC enthusiasts, have proven through this virtual event that nothing can stop them from enjoying their favorite superheroes.
