UP Diliman to start offering “Korean Drama” elective Class Watching K-drama for a class, where do I sign up?

So watching k-dramas is now a thing you can actually do for school.

University of the Philippines Diliman is now offering an elective class on the analysis of k-dramas for academic year 2020-2021.

The class, entitled “BC 196 Special Topics: Analysis of K-Drama Series,” is under the College of Mass Communications and is open to all colleges.

Crash Landing on You via Netflix

According to the class description on the school’s site, students will be analyzing three of the following Korean dramas: “Crash Landing on You”, “Chicago Typewriter”, and “Misaeng.” Students taking the class will need access to these dramas and are advised to start watching them.

K-dramas are very popular among Filipinos, most especially now during the pandemic. So giving an elective class like this would help students and fans understand its themes, culture, and the wider social contexts of these dramas.

The class requires students to have access to an internet connection, video conferencing platforms, and the necessary gadgets.

The class has attracted more than a hundred students to sign up, but it will only offer up to 20 slots.

So for all you UP students who are k-drama fans, grab your favorite drama snack and get your binge watch on!
