Daniel Arsham and numerous artists are auctioning special experiences on Charity Buzz to raise funds for the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City.

The American multifaceted artist and Cooper Union alumnus will welcome up to four persons in his studio located in the neighborhood of Long Island City, where he works across disciplines such as fine art, architecture, performance, design and film.

The winning bidder will have the opportunity to enjoy the hour-long private tour between Jan. 1, 2021 and Dec. 31, 2021.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to alter traveling plans, the visit of Arsham’s studio can also be experienced virtually between Aug. 24 and Dec. 1.

The private tour, estimated to fetch up to $1,500 (approx. P72,900), is one of the numerous lots and experiences up for grabs as part of the Cooper Union’s charity auction.

Up-and coming artist Avery Singer, who participated in the 2019 edition of the Venice Biennale, is also offering a two-hour tour of her private studio in New York City.

Also on sale are a coffee or a beer in New York’s East Village neighborhood with critically-acclaimed filmmaker Bill Morrison, a 90-minute architecture consultation with Lee Skolnick of design firm Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership, as well as a virtual coffee with “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins.

Open for bidding through Aug. 20, the Cooper Union’s auction will support the institution’s efforts to return to free tuition for all undergraduate students.

A virtual benefit, called “Concert for Cooper”, was organized earlier this week to raise additional funds for the college’s educational program, with guest appearances by Cooper alumni Alfre Woodard, Alan Cumming, Tracy Ullman, Ben Folds and Patty Jenkins. CC
