News anchor’s acci-dental loss on live TV

How would you feel if you lost a tooth in front of national television?

It would have been just another regular day of reporting for this news anchor in Ukraine had it not been for her tooth that accidentally fell while she was doing a live broadcast.

TSN Channel’s Marichka Padalko was reading the news when a piece of her tooth was about to fall. Despite the obvious mishap, she casually placed a hand on her mouth, removed the piece of tooth, and went on to read the rest of the news—like the pro that she truly is.

Padalko eventually posted the clip on her Instagram account, and it caught the attention of social media.

In the post, she explains (in Ukrainian language) that ten years ago, her daughter accidentally smashed her mouth with a heavy metal alarm clock and she has since gotten massive repair for the said tooth.

Her dentist advised her not to use the tooth for eating before the treatment is completed, but it seems she forgot about it—hence the tooth-falling incident on live tv.

She thought the minor disaster would go unnoticed, but she says she underestimated the attentiveness of her viewers.

“This might be the most powerful experience I’ve had in twenty years of working as a (news anchor),” she said in her post.

She ends by thanking everyone for the amount of support she received, and shares this valuable life hack: “In any situation, we keep calm.”
