We always feel a sense of pride when international stars appreciate Filipino cuisine, justifying the widely used #FilipinoPride hashtag we see over social media.
In one of her recent posts, American rapper Cardi B shared to her fans a video of the Filipino dishes that her household help for 22 years prepared for her—lumpiang shanghai and pansit bihon.
“I don’t know what the f— this s— is called but this s— good as hell with some m—f— barbecue sauce” she said in her Instagram live video, referring to the lumpiang shanghai.
For Filipinos, lumpiang shanghai is a fried spring roll filled with ground pork and spices. It’s a staple dish in every Filipino household, and even served during parties, and yes, in mañanitas (oops na-share).
If you have no idea about the awesomeness of this dish, we seriously urge you to try. We’ve never seen anyone who tasted lumpiang shanghai and didn’t like it.
