Nothing gives so much feels to 90s kids than hearing all your favorite OPM female vocalists perform a single song—a song, which, in fact, is also highly reminiscent of the decade that was. Produced by Melody del Mundo Lucas of Sugar Hiccup and The Mellow Dees, the video of OPM female artists singing Eraserheads’ With a Smile on Youtube is now making the rounds on the Internet, bringing good vibes to everyone during this enhanced community quarantine.
Watch the video below:
The video shows the artists in their respective homes, singing the song in their pajamas or whatever they may be wearing at the time. Even if they’re just using their mobile phones or laptops without proper audio recording equipment, the ladies sang it way better than most people do in videokes or in their showers (which supposedly brings out your best singing voice). The artists who participated in the song are: Cynthia Alexander, Barbie Almalbis (former lead singer of Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle), Bayang Barrios, Lei Bautista (lead singer of Prettier Than Pink), Skarlet Brown (lead singer of Put3Ska), Cooky Chua (lead singer of Color it Red), Kris Gorra-Dancel (former lead singer of Fatal Posporos), Aia de Leon (former lead singer of Imago), Melody del Mundo Lucas (former lead singer of Sugar Hiccup), Kitchie Nadal, Hannah Olives (former lead singer of Session Road), QT Paduano (former lead singer of Agaw Agimat), and Acel Bisa-van Ommen (former lead singer of Orphan Lily).
According to the Youtube post, the video is a way of saying thank you to all the healthcare workers and COVID-19 frontliners. It also seeks to support the KayaKap campaign, which aids working musicians with financial needs.
