Woman pens poem to inspire hope and happiness after immense loss

This #POPCreators entry was submitted by LaKesia D. Session, a 32-year-old woman from Sumter, South Carolina, in the United States. She studied at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina, from 2007-2013 and has a Bachelor of Arts in English degree.

She hopes this poem of hers can remind people who’ve experienced loss that there is still hope.

“The poem was inspired by the way I believe life should be even after the times when we are hurting or feeling lost, overwhelmed, etc. I believe that even after tragedy, everyone should feel and know hope, happiness, and love,” she tells POP!

Here is her poem entitled “After It All”:

After It All

And after it all

There is still Happiness

And there is still Hope

Yesterday was yesterday

And today is today

Tomorrow will be tomorrow

And that sun will still rise (again)

There is still Happiness

There is still Hope

And after it all

Someone will be there to love you in the end—

After it all.
