And in case you missed this spectacular night of music, here are the highlights:
The epic event began with some opening remarks from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Han Dong-Man, who spoke in Filipino during his speech.
“Maraming salamat po, mahal na mahal ko kayo, mga Filipino!” he tells concertgoers.
(Thank you so much [for your warm welcome]. We love you, Filipinos!)
The First Vice Minister in the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in the Republic of Korea, Kim Yongsam then went onstage for a special congratulatory message. This was followed by a few welcoming remarks from the Executive Director of the National Archives of the Philippine, Commissioner Victorino Mapa Manalo.
After the opening was finished, Han Dong-Man, Kim Yongsam, and Victorino Mapa Manalo shared the stage with the children from the event’s advocacy to officially launch the K-POP Friendship Concert in Manila.
OPM band Silent Sanctuary then took the stage to perform hits like “Pasensya Ka Na,” “Sa’yo,” and “Ikaw Lamang.”
This was then followed by Noir, who performed their hit song, “Airplane Mode.”
April then went onstage to sing and dance to songs like “Oh! My Mistake” and “April Story.” And in between their performances, hosts Kring Kim and Ryan Bang interviewed the girl group.
“We’re a bit nervous [to perform tonight] but you guys, are just so supportive [of us],” the group said in response to being asked what it felt like performing in the Philippines for the first time.
NCT Dream finally ended the night with an unforgettable setlist that included the track, “Go.”
But K-Pop fans, don’t worry, because NCT Dream promises to be back in the Philippines soon – “Because of you guys, we’ll be sure to return to the Philippines.”
