After headlining at Wanderland Music and Arts Festival last year, Irish rock band Kodaline returned to the country for a one night show at the New Frontier Theater last February 26.
During their first solo concert in the country, the band serenaded Filipino fans with songs from their recently released third album “Politics of Living” such as “Follow Your Fire,” “Brother,” “Head Held High,” “Angel,” and many more. They also performed crowd-favorite “All I Want,” which gained popularity after being featured in the hit film The Fault In Our Stars and medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. The quartet ended the show and brought out all the feels with their song “High Hopes.”
Kodaline, formally known as 21 Demands, is comprised of Steve Garrigan (vocals, rhythm guitars, keyboards), Mark Prendergast (lead guitars, keyboards), Vincent May (drums, percussion), and Jason Boland (bass guitar). After releasing their debut album “In a Perfect World” in 2013 and its follow-up “Coming Up For Air” in 2015, which went Gold in the UK, the band has sold over a million copies worldwide and imprinted itself on the nation’s consciousness with streaming figures well into the 100s of millions.
The band members of Kodaline expressed their gratitude to their Filipino fans, who some even booked a flight just to hear them live. “Thank you so much for being such an amazing crowd. We really love the Philippines!” lead vocalist Steve Garrigan said. Kodaline said that they wish to come back again soon and perform for their Filipino fans again.
