During the 1990s, the music scene was dominated by punk rockers, teenage pop divas, hip-hop crews, and of course, boy bands. It was also the era that introduced ’90s kids to a plethora of music genres, including alternative rock, gangsta rap, Eurodance, pop rock, neo-soul, and more.
Growing up in the ’90s, you surely had a playlist dedicated to your childhood crush. And perhaps, it even included the hits of the Canadian pop-rock band The Moffatts.
Composed of Scott Moffatt and his triplet brothers, Dave, Clint, and Bob, The Moffatts started performing together and touring around the world in 1987. Then in 1999, they were awarded “Fan Favourite Band of the Year.”
However, in February 2017, Bob, Clint, and Scott returned to Manila after 16 years as part of their farewell tour. Dave, meanwhile, quit the band to pursue his career as a solo artist.
And now for the first time in almost twenty years, all four members of the band reunited in an intimate live concert that happened at the New Frontier Theater, last November 30.
Presented by MIDAS Production, they performed all of their biggest hits like “I Miss You Like Crazy,” “I’ll Be There For You,” “Is Life Is So Short,” “Girl Of My Dreams,” and “Girl, I’m Gonna Get You” to name a few.
They also serenaded Filipino fans with a couple of their latest songs, “Like I Love You” and “Secrets,” from their six-track EP, “Chapter: II.”
Through this concert, The Moffats cement their place as one of the phenomenally popular bands that we, Filipinos, will always listen to and love.
