‘May Bidet ba?’ Instagram page is a map of all PH restrooms with this important plumbing fixture

Let’s be honest here–for Pinoys, when sh*t gets real, we usually don’t look for toilet paper or wet wipes. What we look for are toilets with this rather important plumbing fixture called “bidet”.

According to Wikipedia, a bidet is a plumbing fixture or type of sink intended for washing the genitalia, perineum, inner buttocks, and anus of the human body, and is usually located beside the toilet bowl.

Using a bidet spray to wash external genital or anal areas after doing the “number two” is a common practice around the world. For most Filipinos used to cleaning after one’s self with “tabo” and “tubig” following a moment inside the bathroom, the bidet has become an important feature to have in any restroom. Pinoys needing to use the loo usually look for this handy thing in every public restroom, especially when traveling or simply going to the malls or gym.

Hence the birth of the bidet bandwagon on social media. The Instagram page May Bidet Ba? (@meronbangbidet) is now gaining traction with more than 10,000 followers, as the page features photos of different restrooms with the aim of helping determine whether a bidet spray is available in that particular location or not.

Included in the May Bidet Ba?’s posts are the water pressure, cleanliness and “poopability” ratings of every toilet bidet. There’s science to it, apparently!

This is somewhat of a good news for travelers who, at some point in their land trips, will need to “relieve” themselves. Who knew that a gasoline station 29 kilometers of SLEX South Bound has a bidet? Just always check the page’s notes on its photo uploads.

Sadly, this popular coffee shop in Katipunan doesn’t have one. I mean, coffee may trigger both pee pee and poo poo!

This toilet in an exclusive club in Makati has 5-star ratings each for the three categories with a special note: “Notes: warm yung ilaw. relaxing. mabango. bakal yung bidet.”

As of now, the Instagram account has 12 posts but is highly commended by a lot of netizens for its informative content.

Here’s hoping we’ll see more updates from “May Bidet Ba?”!
