UP Psychology Society presents ‘DIWA: A Children’s Fair’

The UP Psychology Society proudly presents, DIWA: A Children’s Fair– a half-day event on November 24, 2018 from 9 am to 1 pm at the UP Diliman College of Science Amphitheatre.

Running on its second year, DIWA has been able to help the Society actively promote its advocacy with regards to raising awareness for kids with neurodevelopmental disorders. A project entitled Interaction with Differently Abled Kids (InDAK) was established, which involves fun and interactive learning sessions for the students of the SPED Center of Batino Elementary School. Furthermore, in the previous semester, its very first children’s fair was held. Both of these projects have provided the members and volunteers with multiple opportunities to interact with children as well as gain awareness on their conditions while being able to foster a close relationship with the students, teachers, and parents.

This year’s Children’s Fair will cater to the students of the SPED Center of Batino Elementary School and other foundations geared towards the same cause. There will be booths to supplement what they learn in their classes and InDAK sessions in various engaging ways. There will also be a program that will allow them to relax and enjoy the games and performances.

Volunteer sign-ups are open to anyone. Link to sign up sheet may be accessed in this link: tinyurl.com/Diwa2018Volunteers. You may visit the official DIWA: A Children’s Fair Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ChildrensFair2018 for more information.

Come one, come all! Join the UP Psychology Society and together we can better appreciate how these children are different but not less.
