Anyone who’s ever opened his or her television sets would know that Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda are two of the most influential celebrities in the Filipino entertainment industry. Together, they exude an upbeat and humorous vibe that makes for an electrifying show.
However, when these two are not working together, each of them is developing new and exciting products for their makeup lines. Anne Curtis, for instance, released the blk travels collector’s limited edition lippies. While Vice Ganda unveiled his new good vibes collection.
Although these personalities both have their own beauty brands, their products are actually quite different from one another. In fact, I’ve tested both of their matte liquid lipsticks and here’s my take on each brand:
Anne Curtis’s blk long-lasting matte liquid lipstick (Simple)
On packaging: The blk long-lasting matte liquid lipstick comes in a small, hard transparent case with a screw-on black cover. Its minimalistic design may look boring to some, but for me, the product’s “glass-like” casing showcases elegance and class.
It’s definitely the kind of product you wouldn’t be ashamed of using in a formal event because of its chic design!
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
On mattifying quality: The product glides effortlessly on the lips and reveals a subtle matte color. Moreover, the product isn’t super sticky – which makes it ideal for everyday wear.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
On longevity: One major factor in purchasing lipsticks is how long color can last on the lips after application. Earlier in the day, I spread an even layer of the blk long-lasting matte liquid lipstick on my lips. Even though it was my favorite nude shade in the makeup line, I was slightly disappointed by how quick I needed to reapply the product. Because after a whole day at work, I’ve reapplied the product at least three or more times since my first application.

Vice Ganda’s phenomenal matte liquid lipstick (Hanash)
On packaging: Vice Ganda’s phenomenal matte liquid lipsticks come in a long, slim, cylindrical case with a magenta-colored screw-on top. Its casing is made out of lighter kind of plastic and its applicator has a thin stem.
Although this lighter plastic casing may benefit makeup users who want something easy-to-carry, I think the packaging makes it seem less posh. Also, the magenta-colored cover seems to be striking an unusual contrast with the liquid content – which I personally think make it less pleasing to the eyes.
However, I do appreciate the interesting names in lipstick shades. Many of the lipsticks have quirky titles like “Hanash,” “Kemerut,” and “Bet na Bet”.
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐
On mattifying quality: The ‘Hanash’ shade showcases a slightly dark nude color. Upon closer inspection and application, the liquid lipstick has a thick consistency and glides seamlessly on the lips.
It sets into a striking matte, smooth, and creamy finish.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
On longevity: Lipsticks always look great after the initial application, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the shade colored my lips. But after a whole day at work, I’ve reapplied the product at least 3 or more times within the day.
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐
In conclusion, I believe blk cosmetics’ liquid matte lipstick is slightly better than that of Vice Cosmetics. But overall, I still think these two liquid lipsticks are still worth trying and buying.
