Pens N’ Brushes’ Pride Month tribute ends with an interesting twist

Pens N' Brushes' Pride Month tribute
The Life Drawing Session, one of the unique art events of Pens N’ Brushes, has concluded its 6th edition featuring an alluring theme, “The Forsaken Bride,” as part of the Pride Month celebration held on June 30, 2018 (Saturday) at the Pineapple Lab, Makati City, the official venue partner of the event.
After over four months, Pens N’ Brushes is proud to make its comeback into the Philippine art scene to constantly share its aspiration to introduce the beauty of human form on paper allowing everyone to develop their skills in a very relaxed environment. The organization has also successfully produced other interesting art jams such as Portraits 360 and Theatrical Drawing Session. Portraits 360 is an event that allows guests to draw and be drawn while Theatrical Drawing Session offers the artists numerous tableaux from a narrative to work on.
This edition’s theme, The Forsaken Bride, aims to showcase an in-depth look to a predicament that happens to many, especially to those involved in gender identity issues. The models did an excellent job executing the distinct emotions, from betrayal, acceptance, to love, while allowing everyone to create dramatic artworks from their individual interpretation. A string duet of Violin and Guitar by Quartet Manila and Timog Band performed in the event.
Similar to the previous editions, the event was divided into 3 acts starting with the female model portraying a character of a forsaken bride, followed by the male model, and lastly, the couple set. The latter, however, had an interesting twist. Aside from the models, the group presented a female body mannequin that led the artists to convey their own understanding of the scene and how the final poses revealed the whole idea of the event’s theme.
Faber-Castell Philippines provided everyone with their top-notch mediums, while all the guests enjoyed free-flow beer from 6:00 pm-7: 30 pm, courtesy of San Mig Light.
With the number of guests participated, Pens N’ Brushes once again proved its continued commitment to delivering a significant and ultimate artistic experience to everyone.
