Dries (2017)
Dries follows the designer Dries Van Noten from his home to his studio as he goes through the process of preparing for his upcoming collections. Filmed for an entire year, the documentary shows the rigorous steps of bringing a collection to life, from choosing the fabric and embroidery to narrowing down which designs make it to the runway.
Iris (2014)
Interior designer. Businesswoman. Fashion icon. Iris Apfel’s eclectic style is recognizable from her thick-rimmed glasses and stacked multicolored bangles. Iris is an in-depth portrait of the fashion legend’s day-to-day life of shopping and mentoring as well as her free-spirited personality which is as vibrant and colorful as the clothes on her back (and her enormous closet).
House of Z (2017)
An intimate film detailing the ups and downs of the career of American designer Zac Posen who at a young age sky rocketed to stardom for his charming presence and unique creative aesthetic. In her directorial debut, Sandy Chronopoulos builds a compelling and straightforward telling of the Posen’s rollercoaster life featuring the likes of Naomi Campbell, Sean Diddy Combs a.k.a. Puff Daddy, and André Leon Talley.
Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes For Lizards (2017)
Visually captivating, the documentary is a look into the master luxury shoe designer Manolo Blahnik’s creative process and his inspiration for creating his world-famous mules and stilettos. With praise from the likes of Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, and John Galliano, the film is a must-watch for anyone who desires their own pair of Manolos.
