DLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild presents DuLa Salle 2k17: Rights Minus Wrong, an annual series of student-directed one-act plays performed by the Guild’s latest talent. This year, DuLa Salle explores various human rights in context to various aspects of Philippine society. With a wide range of different genres, concepts, and talents, here’s what you can look forward to in Harlequin’s upcoming project:

LAGUNA CAMPUS

Bakwit

A volunteer teacher decides to save up money so she can bring her students to a local museum. As she and her students almost raise enough funds, unfortunate circumstances jeopardize the fate of their field trip.

Gagamba

A 10-year-old boy’s family history of squatting and possible involvement in rash robberies in the neighborhood, has left his family home in danger. In spite of this, his grandfather, Mang Pecto might have the perfect solution and his Lola Chitang’s dreams of having a house to call home, spiderwebs and all, might finally come true.

Sa Loob at Labas ng Bayang Uling

After months of gruesome labor under their abusive overlord, a sickly worker catches a glimpse of the outside world and plans revolt against their dictator.

Change My Name, Change My Name

A transgender woman argues her way into getting her name changed at the local municipal hall. What transpires is a colorful and “dragged-out” rehashing of her life pre-transition.

Hindi Ko Pa Nakikita Ang Larawan ng Dagat

A young Badjao girl’s curiosity leads her to a new world she has never known before. Through her discoveries, she realizes that her world is much larger and deeper than just the ocean.
