WATCH: Chadwick Boseman surprises ‘Black Panther’ fans in heartwarming video

Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played the lead role in the hit movie “Black Panther“, appeared on the popular late-night show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to surprise some fans.

In the heartwarming video, fans of the movie were made to stand in front of a Black Panther movie poster as they talked about what the film meant to them. What they didn’t know was that Chadwick Boseman, King T’Challa himself, was standing behind the curtains with host Jimmy Fallon, listening to their messages and waiting to surprise them.

The fans’ messages were moving, with a lot of them talking about how much the movie means to their community and thanking the actor for bringing the role to life. They thanked Chadwick for being “a hero that we really need in a time like this.”

“I cannot tell you how much it means to have you step into the role as our king and be holding it with such grace and poise and joy,” one fan said.

“It means a lot to see a movie that not’s like a Black movie, but just a great American superhero movie with people that look like me,” said another.

“As a creator of color, just seeing this movie made me realize that our stories need to be told. There are so many of us out here who are trying to create great things,” said a young woman who expressed that she wanted to create movies that also inspire others someday.

One woman took the time not only to thank Boseman, but the strong women featured in the film as well.

“I want to thank the Black women too, because they were so strong on their own terms… I think it’s so important that they weren’t strong because they were angry, they weren’t strong because they were hurt. They were strong because they were strong, and that meant the world to me,” she said.

There were also a lot of funny messages that had Fallon and Boseman trying to stifle their laughter behind the curtains.

“I saw it with my girlfriend—I want to thank you for having your suit on for most of the movie because when your chest was out, she was getting excited and I felt insecure. So thank you for that,” one guy said.

“I’ve seen the movie twice in theaters already, and once on bootleg,” another guy confessed, which led Boseman to interject “Wait—you’re gonna bootleg my movie?” after appearing from behind the curtains.

One woman stood out from the video for her hilarious message that, according to Boseman, was almost like a standup routine. The woman said that some kids on her street have taken to asking her if she was Killmonger’s mom because of their similar hairstyles.

The video showed how much Boseman was affected and touched by the fans’ messages as he listened to them from behind the curtains.
