Nutritionist claims it’s healthier to eat pizza than cereal for breakfast

Yeah, you read that right!

Mornings just became a little more bearable after a nutritionist named Chelsey Amer stated that eating pizza for breakfast isn’t just for the severely hungover, but is actually a healthier option than a bowl of cereal.

“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” Amer explained in a report by the Chicago Tribune.

“However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”

Pizza is almost universally-loved—long-standing pineapple on pizza debate aside—so this is definitely good news for a lot of people. Many expressed their excitement on Twitter:

But before you decide to chow down on a slice every morning, here’s the catch: Amer also said that pizza isn’t a healthy food per se—just that it is a more balanced meal compared to a bowl of sugary flakes and milk. It definitely isn’t the healthiest breakfast option there is.
