Joyful fans of all ages got the treat of a lifetime when JBJ visited Manila last January 14, as part of their Dream Come True tour.
But before the idol group graced the Kia Theater stage with their signature charm and smooth vocals, they got up close and personal with InqPOP! about their music, their aspirations and their Filipino fans. Here are some of the swoonworthy details they revealed to us:
True Colors is no ordinary album
Tae-hyun Noh, Kenta Takada, Sang Gyun Kim, Longguo Jin, Dong Han Kim, and Hyeon Bin Kwon first appeared on the second season of the Korean reality show Produce 101, as contestants. When the show came to an end, fans from Korea clamored for these artists to return to the stage, so they grouped together to form the “dream group” JBJ.
Since then, JBJ has released their first mini album Fantasy in 2017.
Recently, the K-Pop group unveiled their second mini-album True Colors — and fans from all over the world seem to be loving it! According to this tweet by New York-based writer Jeff Benjamin, True Colors placed on the Top 75 Albums chart on iTunes:

Unlike their first mini album, True Colors takes on a different approach to music. “We plan to release our next album True Colors, wherein we have different colors to represent the kind of tones and moods we’d like our fans to feel,” Kenta Takada explains about the mini album.
Through the True Colors mini album, JBJ plans to make a statement about their music. Hopefully, many Joyful fans enjoy every track in it!
JBJ’s musical inspiration comes from fans
With the group’s apparent success in the music industry, InqPOP! had to ask them what inspires them to create music and perform onstage. The group replied that their fans are the ones that truly inspire their music. “Since our group was created by fans, our inspiration really comes from them,” says Tae-hyun Noh.
JBJ also recognizes that their success is the result of the Joyful fans’ love and loyalty to their music. The group explains, “Because of the support from fans, we’re still here. We are so thankful because we are so busy right now.”
JBJ wants to explore more of the Philippines
Although this marks JBJ’s first trip to the Philippines, the group is very eager to visit the other scenic locations in the country, particularly Cebu.

Moreover, the group discloses that they’d one day like to hold a concert here. “Yeah, we would really like to return to the Philippines in the future! And we would really like to come back here for a concert,” JBJ reveals.
JBJ loves their Pinoy fans
JBJ’s trip to the country would not be complete if we didn’t ask them what they thought about their Filipino Joyful fans. Surprisingly, the group said they were very curious and excited to know what the Joyful Filipino fans are like.

The group also seemed very apologetic about not having spent enough time with the fans here in the Philippines. “Our flight was delayed yesterday, so we felt really bad that we wasted a bit of time. So we weren’t able to fully enjoy spending time with our Joyful fans here in the Philippines,” Sang Gyun Kim explains.
Despite this setback, JBJ promised to give fans a fan meeting they’ll always remember. “It’s our last fan meeting in the tour so we would really love to give our best to the fans,” the group exclaims. This just shows how much JBJ loves their Filipino Joyful fans 😉
Until next time, JBJ!
