According to AAP’s formal statement, the event will no longer push through because of HM Entertainment, the local producer for the show, failed “to comply with their responsibilities to the owner of the original Golden Disc Awards Ceremony, JTBC PLUS.”

Local Production Teams – LUMOS E&M together with All Access Production tried to solve issues revolving the event, but ultimately, all organizing partners have agreed to move the event back to Korea for a more successful show.

Despite this cancellation, JTBC, LUMOS E&M, and All Access Production are in continuous discussion to hold Golden Wave in the Philippines during the first half of 2018. Golden Wave will be a “a high-level celebration of the Golden Disc Awards winning artists.”
