LOOK: EClub FEU holds Christmas Market

As an organization driven by passion and bound by love, The Entrepreneurship Club (EClub) of Far Eastern University (FEU) stands firm to its ground in being an avenue of empathy, and in giving back to the community.

Last November 27-29, EClub FEU kindled the spirit of the holidays and launched its very first Christmas Market for EClub’s Project Mangan Tayon. Located at the FEU Gazebos and Science Building (SB) Walkway, the Christmas Market featured 25 concessionaires that offered various products such as food, clothing, and accessories. Overall, the three-day event became a delightful holiday shopping experience for the FEU Tamaraws. Also, the FEU Cheer Cadets gave a jubilant roar to conclude the Christmas Market.

Moreover, the Christmas Market was deluged with prestigious sponsors that helped make the event possible. The event was co-presented by Hawk, Piattos, Universal Robina Corporation, Mary Kay Philippines, Amici PH, Puff Corn, SilverWorks, Cara Mia Cakes & Gelato, and Relans, EClub’s official studio partner; and also by media partners: InqPOP!, Rappler MovePH, ABS-CBN, and Tapatan ni Tunying.

Event proponents Ryan Sarayba and Mariel Hermogenes were beyond ecstatic on the success of the event. EClub’s Chief Marketing Officer Ryan Sarayba expressed how fulfilling it was to launch this event knowing that the purpose of the Christmas Market was met, which was to give back to the micro-business owners of R. Papa St., more popularly known as “Hepa Lane”.

Recently, the small-scale businesses in the stretch of Hepa Lane located in R. Papa. St., Sampaloc, Manila were evicted from their long term location by the Local Government of Manila due to sanitary issues. As a way of giving back, The Entrepreneurship Club of FEU stepped up to help the vendors get back on their feet by launching Project Mangan Tayon.

EClub Chief Executive Officer Patrick Manuel further gave light to the main objective of the recent Christmas Market. “The true spirit of Christmas for us in EClub is the spirit of giving and empathy to the community especially those who are in the grassroots levels. The proceeds of the Christmas Market will go to Project Mangan Tayon, EClub’s community project for the R. Papa lane vendors that aims to mentor them about food handling and sanitation. We will be providing them with hairnets, aprons, spit masks, and other sanitary equipment,” he shared.

As the year comes to an end, EClub celebrated the spirit of oneness as an organization in being true to its words by being a pinnacle of FEU in giving meaningful and relevant output-based projects. This year, EClub successfully manifested two fund-generating projects for its adopted communites: Marawi siege victims and R. Papa Lane vendors.

“For the past semester, I’m grateful to have committed officers who made all these possible. I’d also like to commend our Executives for being servant-leaders all throughout the process,” CEO Patrick Manuel expressed.

Indeed a promising organization, EClub will continue to kindle the spirit of giving back and empathy in the years to come. – Lyxen Nicolas, Strategic Department Executive
