Following the viral sensation that was the Selfie Coffee café in Singapore, which digitally prints out customers’ headshots and selfies on foamed milk and whipped cream, London has opened its own version of the “selfieccino” café.

At The Tea Terrace on Oxford Street, customers can take their selfie-snapping, coffee-shop habit to a new level, thanks to a special high-tech printer which can recreate images on a frothy cappuccino in less than 30 seconds.

Ordering is as simple as sending a selfie image via messaging app to the barista.

The “selfieccino” coffee is the latest trend to take Instagram and the Internet by storm.

Because it’s not enough anymore to sip on lattes decorated with clouds of panda- and heart-shaped foam, Palm Vaults in London pimps out their coffees with edible glitter to make them more Instagram-worthy.

Their velvet rose latte, for instance, is a vegan-friendly drink that comes in a shade of Millennial pink, with a dash of sprinkles to boot. Palm Vaults is located inside the Fiorucci store in SoHo London.

At the C. Through cafe in Seoul, barista Lee Kang-bin also became a viral sensation for recreating famous paintings and tableaux like Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”, the “Mona Lisa” and Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” in cappuccino form.

Meanwhile, The Tea Terrace is trying to trademark the name “selfieccino” as their own, and will sell the service at their House of Fraser location on Oxford Street. It will then be rolled out to its two other House of Fraser locations in London and Surrey.
