Q.C. culture, arts, and tourism fest to be celebrated on Nov 25 & 26

QCNA: Kulinarya, Turismo, Talento, At Iba Pa Year 8 is a two-day celebration of culture, arts, and tourism to encourage individuals promote Quezon City through different activities and competitions.

QC-NA is a pun intended word play on QC and Kusina as it mainly promotes food as one of the propelling factor to foster tourism. QCNA was established in 2008 and was institutionalized as an annual event for Quezon City. Over the years, QCNA has prospered with seven (7) successful installations achieving the following goals:

Delivery of quality culinary competitions which contributed to the experiences of participating students and professionals and broadened their knowledge about culinary; Palpable translations of these successful culinary competitions to internship and employment opportunities in the hospitality, tourism, and F&B industry granted by the establishments and companies belonging to the council; recognition of notable individuals and establishments which spearheaded major culinary and tourism projects during the year categorized in: a.) Culinary Trendsetters, and b.) Tourism Movers and Shakers; and promotion of historical sites through informative packaged tours offered to both local and foreign tourists through Quezon City Tourism Council.

This 2017, QCNA 8 continues to highlight the same objective – that of celebrating Quezon City’s talents, cultural gems, places, and people. It will hold its festivities from November 25-26, at the Central Plaza, Eastwood City, Libis, championing local tourism specifically highlighting major players from the food purveyors, restaurants, cafes, hotels, travel agencies, culinary institutes, museums, city libraries and partners from the local city government offices.

On its Gala Night, November 25, 7PM, QCNA 8 will gather QC-based establishment owners, culinary practitioners, food writers, academes, key players in the culinary and tourism business arena, and local government officials for the Quezon City Tourism Movers and Shakers Awarding. On this evening, eight (8) exceptional men and women will be recognized for their notable contributions and social and economic impact in the culinary and tourism industry. Among its awardees are Vice Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte, and City Mayor Hon. Herbert M. Bautista.

Celebrating the hoteliers, restaurateurs, and culinary professionals in the same industry, QCNA will also hold the QC Lifestyle Fashion Show where QC-based establishments and selected students from the QC where they will gracefully parade their respective uniforms in the runway.

Being a nation that celebrates Christmas extensively, QCNA delighted on holding the Noche Buena Handa sa Pamilya Cooking Competition on November 25, 11:30AM where contestants are to showcase dishes served in the Filipino family tables during Christmas eve.

Mixed Grilled BBQ, Sauces & Garnishing Competition, happening on November 25, 2:30PM, experimentalizes on the resourcefulness and creativity of the contestants as they are to exhibit different kinds of grilled meat in a platter with their choice of sauces and garnishing.

A deciding breaker among the competent students, skillful amateurs, and experienced professionals, the Deconstructed Christmas Frittata challenges each contender to the peak of their inventiveness and abilities as they are to prepare an unusually shaped Frittata without compromising its taste. This competition will take place on the second day of QCNA, November 26, 11AM.

QCNA will also hold the QCNA Bartending Competition where it features inventive student and professional bartenders showing off their talents in cocktail mixing and flairtending. A rather entertaining segment, this competition will commence at 1PM on November 26, 2017.
