Atlantic recording group PORTUGAL. THE MAN is celebrating the platinum success of their blockbuster single, “Feel It Still.” The John Hill-produced single is proving to be the band’s biggest hit to date, having spent 17 weeks at #1 at Alternative radio, making it the format’s longest running chart-topper this year. A true multi-format smash, “Feel It Still” – featured on the band’s latest album, “WOODSTOCK” – also held the #1 spot at Triple A radio for thirteen weeks, and is currently #1 at Hot AC and #3 at Top 40 radio formats. On top of all this, “Feel It Still” has officially broken into the top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart after recently topping both the “Rock Airplay” and “Adult Alternative Songs” charts. The song is also #1 on Billboard’s “Radio Songs” chart, making it the most heard song on the radio in the United States this week – the first #1 for a rock band since fun.’s “we are young” in 2012. “Feel It Still” has also proven to be an international success with platinum certification in Canada and gold certification in Australia, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Russia and Switzerland. An irresistible hit, the feel-good tune is #1 on the U.S. Shazam chart for the 7th consecutive week. “Feel It Still” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services.
Adding to the excitement of the success of “Feel It Still,” the Alaskan by-way-of-Portland band joined forces with the students of Ron Russel Middle School in Portland, OR to record a special live version of the chart-topping song, all to benefit the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. “We grew up in Alaska where music was not an option in school or life really. It is great to see Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation give these kids a chance we did not have. Not everyone is a mathematician or a scientist, some of us think a little different and this program encourages that,” says Portugal. The Man’s, Zach Carothers. The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation donates musical instruments and vital support services to under-funded school music programs across the country in an effort to give more students the many benefits of music education, help them achieve more in school and inspire creativity and expression through playing music. Hundreds of thousands of students have benefited and thousands of instruments have been donated to nearly 1,500 school music programs across the country. Watch & listen to Portugal.
