Manila was the last stop and the only Asian leg in Badu’s world tour. Badu sympathized with her Pinoy fans saying that she’s seen the news and she knows what they are going through. She talked about the corruption and police violence happening both in the United States and in the Philippines.
Known for her strong political stance, Badu brought up the issues about Christopher Columbus Day, a holiday celebrating the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in America on October 12, 1492. According to Badu, Columbus stole from the native Americans and jokingly encouraged the crowd to “steal shit” that night. “Well steal our fu***ing dreams back!”
When Badu stepped out of the stage, the crowd clamored for more and she came back saying: “I’m just bullsh***ing you!” During her encore, Badu reached to the people, held their hands, and told them to “let it go”—let go of all the worries and burdens we are carrying on our shoulders. Badu’s show didn’t just showcase superb musicality but it also seemed like a spiritual healing. (She’s that good!)
Erykah to her fans: "I love you and I need you. I appreciate you!"
Nope. We're not crying! 😢😍❤️#ErykahBadu #ErykahBaduMNL
