This is why it’s important to celebrate International Day of the Girl

Everyone knows that being a girl has its own set of ups and downs. Some days, we feel like we’re on top of the world; on others, it’s like we’re drowning in an endless sea of problems.

For many girls, the latter rings more true in their lives, as some of their basic rights have been either denied or taken away from them.

But all hope is not lost. On this special day, let us join in celebrating the International Day of the Girl—a holiday dedicated to highlighting women’s rights and empowering young girls everywhere to reach their potential.
