The most anticipated concert of the year is happening on November 7, as AEG Presents and Ovation Production bring Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour to the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds!
Joining the talented musician and multi awarded singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is independent singer, producer, and composer, Lauv. The 23-year old American artist behind the infectious track, “I Like Me Better” recently announced that he will be supporting Ed Sheeran throughout his Divide tour in Asia—spanning a massive 14-date run commencing in Osaka, Japan (25 October) and concluding in Dubai (23 November).
“Words cannot express my excitement to have the opportunity to tour with one of the most genuine artists of this era in multiple countries I’ve never been to in my life. Honored is a start,” Ari Strapans Leff, better known as “Lauv”, enthusiastically said about sharing the stage with Ed.
The young artist’s fresh single “I Like Me Better” has garnered over 100 million online streams and is gradually climbing up worldwide charts. Following the release of what Billboard described as Lauv’s “softly soul-baring” single was his tour announcement and a video entitled ‘hello’ which introduced the rising star.
The multi-faceted performer revealed that before his creation of music as Lauv, he lost the sense of his genuine identity for a while. “It seems like a lot of people lose touch with that forever, and end up living a life that’s not really true to who they are,” he added. While commenting on his music style, he stated, “By being so honest in my songs, I want to encourage people to be okay with who they are and what they feel. More than anything else, that’s what drives me to create music in a massive way.”
Lauv also released a Cheat Codes remix to “I Like Me Better” and a Spotify Session including a stripped version of the single, as well as his own rendition of Akon’s Don’t Matter. The LA-based artist also holds songwriting credits for Charli XCX’s “Boys and US Top 10 hit single “No Promises” by Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato. “I Like Me Better” follows the release of Lauv’s debut single named “The Other”, which he composed while a student at NYU. Like his latest hit, the track also gathered over 100 million Spotify streams and became a part of Today’s Top Hits and Global 100. Lauv launched his sold out “late nights, deep talks” tour in the US earlier this summer, marking his first headlining tour. Moreover, he played at Billboard Hot 100 Festival in Jones Beach, New York on August 20th and the Summerfest a month before.
This November 7, catch the fusion of American and British pop as Lauv and Ed Sheeran serenade the Manila crowd at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds! Tickets on sale at SM Ticket Outlets and online at smtickets.com. Presented by Smart, AEG and Ovation Productions.
