…and ready to kick some ass!
The life-size Gundam RX-78-2 model made its last stand in Odaiba, Tokyo last March despite being a massive tourist attraction. It has been replaced by a new Gundam statue, a 1/1-scale RX-0 Unicorn Gundam that is almost finished.
One of the things that fans should be excited about is that the mecha will be able to transform from “Unicorn mode” to “Destroy mode” and will include the following features: glow in 50 different areas, have functional hatches, joints, and different facial expressions — just like in the anime.
If you can’t wait to see this Mobile Suit Gundam in its full glory on September 24, one spectator was able to capture Unicorn Gundam’s transformation during its test run. Check out his tweets for a sneak peek:

各部発光テスト。各パーツで独立した発光が可能なようです。ここで確認できているのは赤・緑・白ですが、青や黄色と言った色も発光可能なようです（2倍速で編集しています）

ユニコーンモードで外装を閉じた状態での赤い発光。
