Brace for impact with MTVph: 2017 VMAs Augmented Reality experiences and powerhouse performers

MTV announced two augmented reality (AR) experiences: a VMA AR studio Moon Person camera effect on Facebook, and a collaboration with 8i to release a collection of 3D photorealistic Moon Person holograms which is available worldwide on the mobile AR app Holo.

Click HERE to check out VMA Moon Person effect. To use the VMA Moon Person effect, tap on the camera icon on the top left corner of the Facebook app or swipe right from your News Feed to open the new in-app camera. On Holo, the Moon Person is a stunning, photo-realistic holographic rendering of the character performing a variety of trending dance moves like The Rollie, Whip & Nae Nae, and Milly Rock. Fans can virtually interact with the Moon Person, and snap a selfie or record their own music video, which make the character appear as if it was there in real life.

One of best-selling artists of all-time, Sir Rod Stewart, will perform with multi-platinum selling group DNCE for the remake of classic hit, “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy” at the 2017 VMAs. Moreover, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, Demi Lovato, will perform “Sorry Not Sorry” from her upcoming album.

Powerhouse pop group Fifth Harmony will be taking over the flagship @Instagram account to share all the behind-the-scenes moments leading into their VMAs performance “Down” featuring Gucci Mane on Instagram Stories.

Kendrick Lamar leads the list of nominees with eight categories and joins an extensive line-up of A-list performers for the show, including 2017 MTV VMA host Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Bebe Rexha, Noah Cyrus, Echosmith, Why Don’t We, Kacy Hill, Cheat Codes, and Sammi Sanchez among others, promising dynamite performances for this year’s VMAs.
