IN PHOTOS: Jam For Peace proves that music can make a change in this world

It’s a well-known fact that many Filipinos won’t hesitate to extend a helping hand for their Kababayans (countrymen) -in-need. In fact, they even go above and beyond the call of duty when they see their fellow Filipinos struggle in the face of calamity and adversity. And this month, Filipinos can once again display their generous nature to their fellow countrymen through the Jam For Peace bar tour!

The Jam for Peace bar tour brings together notable Filipino artists and bands to join in the common cause of helping Filipinos struggling in Marawi. The general manager for The Itchyworms, Julie Pacanas explains, “Nag come-up kami ng isang bar tour na tawag, Jam for Peace. Ang objective namin [dito] ay mag-unite ng mga musicians and bands, para in our own little way [may] maitutulong kami sa mga biktima sa Marawi.” (We came up with the bar tour, Jam for Peace to unite musicians and bands alike, in helping the victims in Marawi.)

And last August 9, artists Barbie Almalbis, Hale, The Itchyworms, Tanya Markova, Soapdish, Silent Sanctuary, Ben and Ben, Aia De Leon, Absolute Play, and Mayonnaise gathered together at the Historia Bar and Boutique to discuss their upcoming shows for the Jam for Peace tour.
