Following their US debut and Billboard 200 entry, BE:FIRST celebrate their fifth anniversary with their first original album in nearly two years, led by the hip-hop anthem “NOW U KNOW”.
The six-member Japanese dance and vocal group marks their fifth anniversary on 3 November with the release of their fourth album “BE:4U”, a 13-track collection bringing together new music, unit songs and a newly recorded version of “Mainstream”. The album arrives after a year of major milestones, including BE:FIRST’s US debut and an entry on the Billboard 200.
Leading the album is “NOW U KNOW”, an energetic hip-hop track reflecting on BE:FIRST’s journey so far and the ambition driving the group forward. Member MANATO also contributed to the track, adding to BE:FIRST’s hands-on approach to their music.
The album features “BE:FIRST ALL DAY”, a declaration of being BE:FIRST for life, alongside “Missing”, a bittersweet love song and BE:FIRST’s second collaboration with British DJ and producer Jonas Blue. It also includes “It’s not a bad life”, the theme song for the film RYUJI 竜二, which features member JUNON, “街灯 Lighting up the town“, featured in FamilyMart’s Christmas campaign, and “H.A.R.E.”, the Suntory draft beer tie-up song.
“BE:4U” introduces two unit songs that spotlight different combinations of members: “Diva” by SHUNTO, MANATO and JUNON, and “#Conbini” by SOTA, RYUHEI and LEO. “for you” was created by MANATO, JUNON and LEO with world-renowned producer Shintaro Yasuda. Every newly recorded song on the album carries credits from the members, continuing BE:FIRST’s involvement in shaping their own music.
The LIVE editions add a second disc recorded at “MTV Unplugged: BE:FIRST” at PIA ARENA MM on 3 March 2026.
The release follows a landmark year for BE:FIRST. In May, the group held their first solo stadium shows, drawing a total of 100,000 attendees across two days. In August, they performed at Head In The Clouds LA 2026 in Los Angeles and made its first appearance at LaLaLa Festival in Indonesia. September saw the release of the global EP “WATCH ME”, marking BE:FIRST’s US debut and reaching No. 130 on the Billboard 200. BE:FIRST also completed BE:FIRST WORLD SHOWCASE 2026, performing in four cities – Bangkok, Taipei, Manila, and two shows in New York.
Looking ahead, BE:FIRST will continue their fifth-anniversary celebrations with “BE:FIRST 5th Anniversary DOME TOUR 2027”: Tokyo Dome on 11 and 12 January, Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka on 13 and 14 February, and Belluna Dome in Saitama on 6 and 7 March.
