Every dog lover knows that their dogs are more than just pets, they’re family!
And because they’re family, their birthdays need to be celebrated in the best way possible. For most, this consists of buying their pooch their favorite treats. However, there are a select few who will go the extra mile and give their pets an unforgettable birthday bash.
But Canada native Nikki Wallin wanted to do more to commemorate her Shiba Inu Sei-sei’s 10th birthday, so she had a photoshoot done… and the results were cool AF!
When asked why she decided to have a photoshoot with her dog, Wallin tells InqPOP! “My dog (Sei-sei) is my soulmate. We’ve been through so much together and this year, she turned 10; I wanted to do something special with her. Because when the time comes that she passes, I can look back to a happy time. But I couldn’t just do any photoshoot, I wanted to do something more my style… something more unique and original.”
Not only do these photos look cool, but the themes depicted represent Wallin’s and Sei-sei’s personalities. Wallin explains, “I wanted to do something that was easily recognizable and relatable in pop culture but were all complimentary themes. So, we have the warrior (Vikings) the beauty (Vanity Fair) and the joker (Breaking Bad). Sei-sei is most definitely all of these things!”
Although these photos were done specifically for Sei-sei’s 10th birthday, Wallin adds that there may be a chance she’ll do another photoshoot with her canine in the future. “I think maybe the next shoot will involve my husband and other Shiba [Inus] in some sort of wacky setting. We shall see!”
