After a devastating multi-vehicle crash that occurred at an expressway toll plaza, the uncle of the two-year-old who lost his parents made a plea to the public.
In a post he made on Facebook, the post reads, “Please, we’re kindly requesting everyone to stop using our brother and sister-in-law’s names and photos in your posts. They lost their lives in a tragic accident, and while we understand many of you mean well by raising awareness about road safety and empathize with our situation, using their photos, videos, and personal details — especially those of their child — without our permission is not respectful.”
He continued stating that their family “is still in deep grief” and that his young nephew who survived the accident is now left without his parents.
“This is not just a story or content — this is our real, painful loss. Please let them rest in peace, and allow us the space to mourn with dignity,” he ended the post.
Social media users took to the comments to share their thoughts on his statement, with some even sharing their condolences to the family.
One user wrote, “Ito na nga sinasabi ko, for the content na naman sila eh grab ng photos and videos para pagkakitaan ng mga vlogger/content creator na yan [This is what I’m saying, they’re just there for the content, grabbing photos and videos so those vloggers/content creators can make money]. Prayers and healing for the whole family po.”
Another user wrote, “They can be grateful that they’re still alive and safe without being insensitive. Because, the way I see it, it’s like they’re telling everyone that we’re better than them because we’re still alive and it just makes my blood boil with anger. A child is now an orphan because of such a careless act of a careless person, they don’t deserve it. They deserve the best things life can offer. Praying for your family and for the kiddo. Condolence.”
“Dapat po sa mga yan nire-report. Kapag ni-call out mo mga nangangatwiran pa [They should be reported. When you call them out, they are still making excuses],” a third user wrote.
The young boy lost both of his parents in a multi-vehicular collision at a highway toll plaza in Tarlac last May 1. The deceased couple’s SUV was struck by a bus that hit a van at the toll gate payment queue when they were traveling for vacation.
