Revving up her aura in this year’s Oscars, BLACKPINK star Lisa stuns in a sparkling black dress as she delivers a unique rendition of Paul McCartney’s 70’s classic “Live and Let Die” as the first K-Pop artist to perform at the annual event for the 97th Academy Awards. Alongside her were British singer-songwriter Raye and American rapper and record-producer Doja Cat as they performed a tribute to the James Bond franchise.
Bond girl herself Halle Berry introduced their number with a little tease to the audience by mentioning homage to our “favorite spy,” who is none other than 007 himself. Margaret Qualley then kicks off with a quick dance number to the Bond theme song, and there descends Lisa from the sky as the show transitions to her segment, captivating the audience with her strong stage presence.
Of course, fans couldn’t help but buzz about her performance.

The Thai rapper has been on her solo journey, landing other gigs such as the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s) where she performed with Spanish singer, Rosalia, showing us what a rockstar she truly is. The award show recognized her twice, once in 2022 while she attended the event with her other BLACKPINK bandmates– Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo, and a second time again in 2024 where she won the trophy for the category of “Best K-Pop.”
Lisa has also started on a new venture with her acting debut, as she is currently starring in season 3 of HBO’s “The White Lotus.” It’s no secret that this artist is quite the versatile creative as she keeps us on our toes. She had just released her new solo album titled “Alter Ego,” which was made public last February 28 where she internally portrays, quite literally, her alter ego, Vixi.
The K-Pop idol, whose real name is Lisa Manoban, has definitely shown us that she has more to give and that there is more of her to come.
